[News] Oh Yeon-soo cast Queen Sateak in 'Gye Beak' MBC new historical drama.

Oh Yeon-soo cast as Queen Sateak in 'Gye Beak'. Last four years ago she cast as 'Lady Yoo Hwa' in 'Jumong' korean famous drama.
Queen Sataek was the mother of King Uija and the 1st wife of King Mu in real history. However, this drama will follow the legend and make King Euija as the son of Seonhwa (Silla's Princess). In the drama, Queen Sataek will be opposing King Euija's succession of the throne just as the mother of evil brothers in King Geunchogo had done. She was the daughter of Minister Sataek Jukduk.
In 'Gye Beak' Oh Yeon Soo cast a strong, fierce character who’s adamant about preserving the blood purity of the Baekje people, which can give her the appearance of a villain but which Oh explains as a result of her intense love of her nation. Oh Yeon-soo is awesome at playing cold and intense, and no doubt she will be great at making you hate her.
Queen Sateak (Oh Yeon Soo) insistence therefore makes her a harsh antagonist to Euija (Jo Jae-hyun), the future (and last) king of Baekje, because of his Silla origins. Thus when Euija becomes king and receives the support of Gye Baek, she becomes a prominent political opponent.
"Gye Baek" is a MBC 50th Anniversary Special to be broadcasted after "Miss. Ripley", will be air on 25th July 2011.
