Hallyu star Ryu Si-won will take participate in the second round of a car race in China, according to his agency R's Company on Friday.
Ryu's agency issued a press release stating that Ryu advanced to another round of the Ferrari Challenge Race which will take place in Shanghai, China on July 24.
Last month, Ryu became the first Korean racer to win at the race during its first round at Zhuhai City of the Guangdong Province in China.
"The Ferrari Challenge is a special event which allows people to share their culture and passion for racing," an official from FMK was quoted as saying. "It's a great honor to have Ryu take part in our race and we have high expectations for him as a racer."
"I'm extremely glad to be participating in the second round of the race," Ryu said in the press release. "I hope that I can hold a special event with my fans in China this time since I wasn't able to during my previous visit."
This year's Ferrari Challenge Race was held in the formats of Coppa Shell and the Trofeo Pirerlli, named after an oil and tire company, while the car used for the race was the Ferrari 458 model.
Ryu, singer and actor, made his debut in 1994, and has starred in various dramas including "Secret" (2000, MBC), "Beautiful Days" (2001, SBS) and "Style" (2009, SBS).
