Singer and actor Park Yoochun stated “I want to take on the challenge of doing multiple types of characters, including villains”, hinting at his passion for acting.
JYJ (Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun, Kim Junsu) recently met at a cafe in Seoul to give an interview about their Korean comeback album “In Heaven”
On that day, the members were asked about their roles as “actor idols”. In particular, there were questions about KBS2′s Sungkyungkwan Scandal, in which Park Yoochun took a lead role, expanding his fanbase and acting as a stepping stone for a successful transformation into an actor. Park Yoochun answered the questions asked to him by saying “In regards to characters that I wish to try, I would like to try a villain role if I am able to”.
“I do not think that I fit the image of a villain, neither outwards nor in my techniques, so I would like to see if I would still be able to do well in the role,” he said, showing his determination and humbleness.
Park Yoochun was also asked if he gave any advice, as a senior actor, to his member Kim Jaejoong on his domestic drama debut “Protect the Boss”.
Yoochun said “Being in my position and seeing this drama, I can say that the way that Jaejoong hyung expressed his character was very well done. He did so well that it touched the hearts of many people and caused me to be envious.”
However about musicals he stated “A musical…I don’t really have much to say in comparison,” arousing much laughter. Fellow member Kim Junsu has acted in the blockbuster musicals “Mozart” and “Tears of Heaven”, earning him the title of the “blue chip” in musicals.
