Idol group TEEN TOP had won 1st place on the terrestrial music programmes one and a half years since their debut. The recent release ‘Crazy’ which was produced by the Brave Brothers, has the uplifting sound of the club; the members have shown off their masculinity and charms and they have been garnering much popularity.
It is the result of one a half years of hard work, they should be extremely thrilled but after meeting up with the TEEN TOP members recently, their response was unexpectedly calm as they said that it is only the beginning now.
“We didn’t think about winning 1st place when we just debuted then, but it took a longer time than expected for us. That’s how delighted we are. To be honest when we first received the song we thought that it’ll be able to do well because the song’s good” (Niel)

When you think of TEEN TOP, perfectly synced dance comes to mind. The dance for one song is the result of 3 months of practice. There are groups who in the bid to gain popularity will take less than a month to prepare for a new song, but TEEN TOP takes a sufficient time period off to not promote so as to fully and perfectly prepare the dance.
“When we receive a song, we take at least 3 months to practise it. When we’re not promoting, we spend 8-9 hours a day practising. Every day we’ll monitor our dance and make sure that the members are all in sync. For example like recently, after our schedule for the day ends, we’ll definitely gather at the practice studio to practise for our next song before we sleep. Recently we’ll practising our choreography for our next new song.” (Chunji)
TEEN TOP’s role model SHINHWA, has had a great impact on their perfectly synced dance. The fact that TEEN TOP was produced by SHINHWA’s Andy which was a hot topic and they emphasized that they want to be like SHINHWA, filled with masculinity and being insistent about having precise and accurate moves.
“We want to emulate SHINHWA sunbaenims success. That’s why we have to work even harder. Andy hyung gives us many advices normally. I heard that he even shed some tears when we won 1st place .”(Niel)
TEEN TOP said that it truly starts from now. Their goals:  to have their own concert within this year, overseas advancement and to hold a world tour. Because of their big goals, they have been promoting diligently for the past one and a half years. And they have become more determined as they watched Infinite, a rivaling group that debuted around the same time as them, achieve 1st place earlier.
“We thought that we have to work even harder. I think that everyone has their own time to shine. Having found such a great occupation, there’s no way we can give up immediately. Because we’re happiest when we’re on stage singing, we don’t have a single thought about giving up our activities as singers. Also at the broadcasting stations, every time the people we meet will tell us “It’ll turn out well” so we have gained strength from there as well.” (L.Joe)
While promoting they have to turn in their cellphones; they have no personal time; all these had to be cast aside for them to reach the top.
“I want to go on a holiday with my family. I want to sleep as much as I want. There are many things I want to do. But I promised to carry it out after we TEEN TOP, truly stand on the top. We’ll work really hard as though it’s only the beginning now” (Ricky)
