[News] 15th annual Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival comes to end.

The 15th Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival (PiFan) ended its festivities over the weekend after a closing ceremony on Friday followed by its post-festival period featuring special movies and encore run of the fest's award-winning films.
This year, some 17 films were handed awards at the ceremony on July 22, led by festival director Kim Young-bin, under the international competition for feature and short films as well as the European Fantastic Film Festival Federation Asian Award (EFFFF), Netpac Award, Fujifilm Eterna Award, PiFan Youth Film Academy Awards and the Distinguished Service Award.
The Best of Puchon prize went to French auteur Quentin Dupieux's thriller "Rubber," a feature about a tire that goes on a killing spree in the deserts of California. The pic was also invited to the Directors' Fortnight of Cannes Film Festival.
Mongolian director Bat-Ulzii Baatar won the jury's choice for his heist movie "Operation Tatar" while the best director award was handed to famed Korean helmed Na Hong-jin for his pic "The Yellow Sea."
Hong Kong actor Juno Mak scored the best actor prize for his role in psychosexual thriller "Revenge: A Love Story," while Swedish actress MyAnna Buring who played Shel in the U.K. hitman thriller "Kill List" won the best actress award.
Japanese auteur Shinagawa Hiroshi received the NH Nonghyup Citizen's Choice for his second feature "Slapstick Brothers."
