Korean 4 member girl group, 2NE1 will start their Japan tour at Yokohama Arena on the 19th. On the 21st, their Japan debut mini album “NOLZA” will be released and their tour that takes place in 3 different locations totalling 6 performances will be the largest debut event by a Korean artist with 70,000 people expected to turn up. Leader CL, in the press conference before the opening (of their tour), vowed to appear on NHK’s “Kouhaku Utagassen” and achieve worldwide expansion.

Green laser beams were flying and with a roar of “NOLZA” meaning “let’s play” in Korean, they rose up from the surface. The Blackjacks continuously showed “21” with their ace of spades and queen of hearts as the four of them broke through and made a flashy appearance on stage.

From the initial 2 songs, they fascinated everyone with their powerful and rhythmic performance. Dara yelled “let’s hear that everyone is ready to play!” in Japanese and grabbed the hearts of 12,000 people.

These four who ran the road to becoming stars in Korea have finally unveiled themselves in Japan. Their first Japan tour consists of 3 different location totalling 6 performances with 70,000 expected to turn up. They overtook SHINee who had 3 different locations totaling 5 performances that had 30,000 people turn up and have become the Korean artist with the largest ever Japan debut.

Yesterday, 5 hours before the opening at noon, 1300 people had lined up. This had not been expected even by the production team. The one with unique fashion and charming personality, CL, said “I bought it at a vintage shop in Harajuku” when asked about the punk-like jacket she wore with 7 patterns and seen to have “shichihenge (lantana flower)” prints. Seniors of the same company, a sub unit derived from BIGBANG, GD&TOP also had flowers attached as they made their guest appearance.

At the press conference before the opening, CL said “Kouhaku is a popular show even in Korea. I definitely want to appear” as she proudly declared to make an appearance at Kouhaku Utagassen on New Year’s Eve. Furthermore, she’s also focusing her attention on worldwide expansion. She enthusiastically expressed, “I’ve heard we have fans in Brazil too, I also want to go to London. I want to be able to do our music on every piece of land.”

In the last of their 22 songs (performed at the concert), they announced that on the 16th of November, their first Japanese single “GO AWAY” will be released. At this rate, they would have ripped through everything by the end of the year.

Note:
Kouhaku or “Kouhaku Utagassen” is an annual music show on New Year’s Eve produced by NHK that’s shown on both TV and radio around the world. It’s literally “Red and White Song Battle” where the most popular music artists are divided into red and white groups consisting of female and male artists respectively. Kouhaku is strictly by invitation so only the best artists have the honour of performing. If an artist can perform at this stage, it’s a big highlight of the success in their careers
